Cardiology,
plainly written.

Cordate Press publishes physician-authored, evidence-led books for the patient in the exam-room chair — the one who wants to understand their heart, not just be prescribed for it.

We make the kind of book a cardiologist would hand a patient across the desk — carefully sourced, generously illustrated, and written to be read cover-to-cover in a weekend. Every title is authored by a practicing clinician, reviewed against current guidelines, and produced with the craft of a small press.

The imprint

A small press for the exam-room shelf.

Cordate Press exists to bring rigorous, patient-facing cardiovascular writing into print. We publish deliberately — physician-authored, evidence-led, illustrated with care, and produced for a long shelf life.

Our name comes from cordate, the botanical word for a heart-shaped leaf. The mark — a heart-leaf rising from an open book — is the whole thesis: patient education is what cardiovascular prevention actually grows out of.

Titles are reviewed against current guidelines, set in Cormorant and Inter, illustrated by working artists, and printed on paper we would happily hand across a desk.

  • Physician-authored. Every title is written or led by a practicing clinician.
  • Evidence-led. Sources are current and cited. Claims survive review.
  • Patient-first prose. No jargon walls. No fear-based marketing.
  • Small-press craft. Trim, type, and illustration chosen — not defaulted.
